i'm inspired by a book i bought, "365: A Daily Creativity Journal: Make Something Every Day and Change Your Life!" by Noah Scalin.
i'm challenging myself to make a creepy crawly everyday for the next year! yes, i know i'm not starting on January 1st, so it won't be a calendar year, but i figured if i start on Christmas eve, then i'll finish all 365 before Christmas Day next year! it's a date i can remember. :)
so my first project is courteousy of a handmade Wreck This Journal that i had received from a Swap-bot swap last year. it's covered in blue and orange duct tape. that means it shouldn't fall apart, right? so awesome!

i didn't take a picture of the notebook page before i tore it out and started folding, but using an origami pattern for dollar bills, i folded and folded... and here's how it turned out.

how do you like my notebook butterfly? :) i had to squish it to the journal would close.

i added some color by patting the butterfly with a multicolored stamp pad. the antennae are repurposed from a food wrapper i found laying around at work. what do you think?
not too shabby or complicated for day 1... if i can continue like this, then i should be able to finish, right?
